Your family's details stay with us.
Plain language, no surprises. Last updated 12 October 2026.
What we collect
When you post an errand we collect your name, email, phone number if you give it, and the details of the errand: what needs doing, where, for whom, and your budget. That can include the names, addresses and phone numbers of the family members you ask us to visit or deliver to.
While an errand runs, our errand agents add photos, GPS positions, receipts and handover signatures to it. That is the proof you receive, and it stays in your errand history.
When you use the site we collect basic technical data: pages visited, approximate region, browser type and referring site. We do not use advertising trackers.
How we use it
To run your errands: matching an errand agent, sharing with them only the details that errand needs, and sending you updates.
Your family's contact details go to the errand agent handling that errand and to no one else. Errand agents cannot see your other errands, your payment details or your contact details beyond what the errand requires.
Payments
Card and wallet payments are processed by our payment providers; we never see or store your full card number. Money is held until you approve the finished errand. Purchases made on your behalf are paid from HomeKwetu accounts so that each one leaves a receipt.
Investigations
Private investigations are carried out by licensed investigators under signed confidentiality. The subject is never told who asked, and reports are released to you alone. We do not take on work that would require unlawful access to personal data, covert tracking of a person, or anything else the law does not allow.
What we never do
We do not sell your information, or your family's, to anyone. We do not publish photos from your errands, and we do not use them in our marketing without asking you first, in writing.
How long we keep it
Errand records, including photos and receipts, are kept for 24 months so you can refer back to them, then deleted. Records needed for tax or legal reasons are kept for as long as the law requires.
You can ask us to delete your data sooner, unless we are required to keep part of it.
Your rights
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 you can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to certain processing. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. If you live in the UK or EU, you have equivalent rights under the GDPR.
To use any of these rights, email hello@homekwetu.com and we will respond within 30 days.
